COV ID-19/novel Coronavirus UPDATE – March 16, 2020 4pm

In an effort to protect the health and safety of the City’s population, the following decisions have been made today:

  • The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is cancelled  (The Key Colony Inn and Havana Jack’s will be open)
  • Declaration of Local State of Emergency
  • All non-essential meetings/activities in Marble Hall are cancelled until further notice (incl. exercise, fish & boat club, crafty ladies, property managers, etc.)
  • The Farmer’s Market on Tuesday(s) is cancelled until further notice
  • The Commission will continue to have its meetings as regularly scheduled, however in an effort to maintain social-distancing, the City will attempt to host remote sessions in order for people to listen and/or view.  We will email blast information accordingly so please sign up for the email blast on this site.
  • The Election scheduled for tomorrow is still on as of now
  • Please call us first (305) 289-1212 opt. 2, to attempt to have your issues resolved.  If you must come to the offices, please follow CDC guidelines with regard to social-distancing, handwashing and hand sanitization
  • Click here for KCB Police Department Statement Form. This form may be in lieu of going to the Police Department.  Please send the appropriate filled-in form(s) and then call the Police Department to have a case number assigned and an officer to handle your request
  • Rest assured city employees are following CDC guidelines including the disinfecting of common surfaces such as door handles, tabletops, chairs, floors, etc.
  • Concerts in the Park are Cancelled

Dear Residents and Visitors of Key Colony Beach:

As the instance of the Coronavirus expands across the United States, I want to insure you the City is taking precautions for the continuation of service and maintaining for clean work environments and proper hygiene. We ALL should take these precautions to prevent any potential cross-contamination of the virus. Please note, as of this morning, there are NO reported cases of the virus in Monroe County. We are carefully working with Monroe County Emergency Management as well as the Florida Department of Health to monitor the situation.
