June 29, 2020 COVID-19 Update

(City of Key Colony Beach, Florida) – Today the City of Key Colony Beach has temporarily closed all nonpublic safety operations between June 29 and July 3, 2020 taking all measures to ensure public health.
We were notified Sunday, June 28th a member of the administrative staff tested positive for COVID-19.
The Emergency Management Director, Christopher Moonis, immediately decided it was in the best
interest to suspend operations at least through Sunday, July 5, 2020.
The Police Department & Fire Rescue continue to operate without interruption.
All other departments are temporarily suspended, including Administration (City Hal), the Building &
Code Department, and Public Works. All Employees & the City Commission are being tested. The
employee with the positive test had very limited contact with any member of the public and was
masked, practicing safe social distancing, however it was safest to test the employee group. The
employee has not been hospitalized. All members of the staff (except Police) are to be selfquarantined for a period of 14-days or until a negative test result is returned.
City phone inquiries are being accepted during normal COVIS-19 business hours M-F from 9AM – 4PM.
Employees who can work from home continue to work.
