2. Monroe County Vulnerability Assessment Project for Key Colony Beach (1st Public Hearing)
a. Presentation by Erin Deady, PA
b. Questions/Comments by the Commission & Public

The City of Key Colony Beach has been engaged in a planning process over the last year to conduct a Vulnerability Assessment. The City received grant funding from the State of Florida to complete that project to comply with new State requirements and we are developing this vulnerability assessment in partnership with Layton and the County. The City is completing the modeling and analysis for the project and now we are conducting a two-part series of Townhall meetings to gain your input.

In the two-part public meeting series, the City will present information about its planning process, the State’s requirements, the modeling and analysis completed and the state of the City’s vulnerability to flood risk from sea level rise, tidal flooding, rainfall and combined flooding events on April 15 at 9:30 am at City Hall. We will also have maps available for the public to request certain areas for review and a deep dive into specific flood risk scenarios. In the second meeting, May 13th in person at City Hall, we will focus on information about the City’s critical assets and infrastructure and other regional assets located in the City to determine how to prioritize the City’s adaptation response. We will be identifying “hot spots” where there are City assets at risk and the City would like the public’s feedback to ensure that our proposed priorities are correct.

We are seeking the public’s input to ensure we have included all of the important City assets and infrastructure, that we have developed the right priorities and that we hear from you on the types of adaptation response you would like to see the City pursue.

3. The City Commission seeks input from residents on a recommendation from the Utility Board to change the methodology in billing from a flat rate to a water-in/water out assessment via FKAA.

4. The City Commission seeks input from residents on a suggested Solar Field at the Retention Pond by 7th Street and Shelter Bay.
