The latest information from the EOC conference call is:
THE KEYS ARE STILL CLOSED TO RETURNING RESIDENTS. PLEASE BE PATIENT. FIRST RESPONDERS ARE STILL NOT ALL BACK AND INFRASTRUCTURE CREWS ARE NOT BACK YET.
– working to get KW and Marathon airports open to handle C130 aircraft and helos. We hope that will be tomorrow AM. USAF is flying in a team to assess now;
– a lot of debris on US 1, teams working from Key Largo south and KW north to assess/clear;
– at MM 75 US 1 is washed out for about 100 yards, a DOT rapid-response contractor has been dispatched;
– at MM 35, a large metal pole is blocking US 1;
– Sheriff Ramsey is leading a team to assess the Marathon area. I asked the EOC to assess KCB;
– FKEC and FKAA are working to restore service;
– KW hospital working to open their ER, hopefully soon;
– Mariners hospital needs an inspection so they can open;
