From Administrator Chris Moonis: IRMA EOC RECOVERY CALL 9.20.17 at 8:30 AM

*The BOIL WATER NOTICE is still in effect for the greater Marathon area. Testing of the water has begun in the area; we are hopeful after 2 successful test periods the notice can be lifted. Limit water usage for sanitation purposes only.
*Residents needing their power turned on: come to City Hall, give address, name and telephone number. The Co-op will pick up the list daily to restore service. The Co-op reports all but 200 accounts have been restored to property where there was no damaged meters in the greater Marathon area. However, there are still 1200 accounts the meter has been booted or damaged.
Please remember to have your meter tested/inspected by a licensed electrician if possible. We surely do not want any fires as a result of your electric service. Regardless, if you want the power turned on, the Co-op will restore power. Please be cautious if it wasn’t inspected by an electrician and they deemed your meter to be inspected. A sticker has been placed on each home indicating the Co-ops concerns.
*There is staff in and around City Hall today for recovery-related questions. Be patient as we have NOT resumed regular business operations. We have asked for FEMA trailers as temporary office space while City Hall is repaired.
*Continue to check www.keysrecovery.org.
*There will be a FEMA mobile registration site at the Marathon Community Park beginning tomorrow and for the next 5 days. THIS IS ONLY A REGISTRATION SITE. The FEMA Disaster Center that is scheduled for the same park is not ready yet.
*Commercial flights resumed at Key West Airport today. There is now general aviation at both Marathon and Key West.
*The Marathon school will reopen Wednesday, September 27, 2017 (This is a new date)
