We are all excited about the newest addition to our City. Construction of our new dog park is slated to begin in the next few weeks. The dog park will be located on 7th Street near the basketball court and will have separate spaces for both large and small fur babies! Due to the generosity of our residents and visitors, funding is almost complete. If you would like to be part of this community project, please contact City Hall. Donations of $500 or more will be recognized with either your or your pet’s name on a memorial sign.
The City is also happy to announce that we will receive $50,000 from a FRDAP grant. Grant funds will be used to replace the playground equipment on 7th Street, update the playground surface, and add shade to both 7th Street and the East Park playgrounds.
On March 24th, Key Colony Beach Fishing and Boating Club Vice-Commodore Sue Redding presented a check for $3000 to the City. Funds were raised through a golf tournament sponsored by the club and will be used for golf course projects. This is another example of the generosity of our civic organizations and our community. Thanks to all involved.
I would like to thank and acknowledge Mr. Jack Crowley for another fabulous St. Patrick’s Day Parade. After a 2 year hiatus, the parade was back stronger than ever! This is Jack’s final year as parade organizer and his dedication to this event will be sorely missed. If you have a chance, please thank him for his years of service to this event.
As another “season” comes to a close, I would like to thank our KCB family. Community involvement is what makes us such a special place. Whether you are a fulltime resident or a seasonal visitor, YOU are what makes Key Colony Beach “The Gem of the Florida Keys”! Thank You!
