The final update to the weather brief concerning Hurricane Helene for the Florida Keys of Monroe County is below:

  • All Tropical Storm Warnings were discontinued for the Florida Keys as of 2:00 am this Friday morning.
  • A Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect for the Upper Florida Keys for continued for major saltwater flooding along the east end of Florida Bay.  Be alert for deep saltwater water on local streets along Florida Bay in Key Largo, Rock Harbor and Tavernier, as well as strong currents near Jewfish Creek.
  • Coastal Flood Statements for the Middle and Lower Keys are being issued for lower, but continued minor saltwater flooding.
  • Small Craft Advisories continue for all Florida Keys coastal waters, mainly for today.
  • While rain chances will remain higher than normal tonight tonight, flooding freshwater rainfall aside from areas already experiencing coastal saltwater flooding is not expected.  Rain chances are forecast to be near normal for late rainy season beginning Saturday.
