Our second sea turtle nest of the season has been excavated, and we’re thrilled to report that 85 hatchlings successfully emerged last Saturday night!
During the excavation, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) collected eggshell samples that will help researchers learn more about sea turtle hatchling biology. Best of all, no hatchlings remained in the nest.
A big thank you to Save A Turtle, FWC, and all the dedicated volunteers who continue to protect these amazing animals.
