The City of Key Colony Beach would like to remind residents, property owners, applicants, and members of the public to remain alert for fraudulent emails, invoices, payment requests, and other suspicious communications.
Before sending money or providing personal or financial information, VERIFY FIRST.
If you receive an unexpected invoice or payment request claiming to be from the City:
🔹 Do not wire money based on an unsolicited email.
🔹 Do not provide banking, credit card, Social Security, password, or other sensitive information by email.
🔹 Do not click links or use contact or payment information contained in a suspicious message.
🔹 Contact the City directly using official City contact information to verify the request.
Remember: A message is not necessarily legitimate simply because it includes the City’s name, logo, address, or information about an actual City matter.
If you have already provided personal or financial information or transferred funds in response to a suspicious communication, contact your financial institution immediately and report the incident to the appropriate authorities.
📢 Please share this reminder with your neighbors and community.
Protect yourself. Verify first. Do not send funds or personal information in response to an unverified request.
