City of Key Colony Beach Official City Website

From Administrator Chris Moonis: IRMA RECOVERY 9.23.17 at 8:30AM

***The BOIL WATER NOTICE has been lifted for Key Colony Beach. We now have potable water!! Some parts of Marathon are still under the notice.
**The City has called a special meeting on Monday, September 25th, at 10AM. The Agenda includes: 1.) Hiring a structural engineer for the City. 2.) Damage Assessment Protocol and Process, and 3.) Review Top 10 list of recovery issues for the City.
*The second hearing for the 2017/2018 Budget has been continued until October 12th at 5:05pm at City Hall.
*City Hall is open today and tomorrow. Generally 8:30am – 3pm (Sat.) and 2PM (Sun.). Starting Monday, until further notice, City Hall hours will be: 9am – 3pm daily for the purposes of disaster recovery and “limited” city hall business.
*Come to City Hall if you need your power turned on. The Co-op will pick up the list daily to restore service. Co-op personnel will remain in the City as long as practical to restore service in this manner versus calling the co-op directly. Please remember, if your power wasn’t restored it could be that you have had salt water intrusion or another unsafe hazard exists. You may need to call an electrician to have your meter or other service inspected. We do not need your property to catch fire as a result of power restoration.
*The curfew in greater Marathon is set at midnight through 6am. There will remain a strong police presence in Key Colony Beach and the causeway bridge will have a checkpoint until further notice.
*A mobile hospital is set to open at Fisherman’s on Monday. It is uncertain when the DMAT (Disaster Medical Assistance Team) hospital will demobilize in Marathon but is likely to happen AFTER the mobile hospital is operational at Fisherman’s. Mariner’s and Lower Keys Medical are both operational.
*Remember to separate you debris, especially all white goods (Heavy consumer durables such as air conditioners, refrigerators, stoves, etc., which used to be painted only in white enamel finish. Despite their availability in varied colors now, they are still called white goods.). Duct tape all doors on white goods. Separate all vegetation from construction debris (furniture, drywall, carpet, etc…) All household hazardous waste need separated (cleaning products, bleach, pesticides, paint, etc…).
