City of Key Colony Beach Official City Website

Mayor Update for February 19, 2021

The City Commission of Key Colony Beach would like to assure its residents of the continued advancement in the following important community projects/issues:

City Hall – The Staff & Commission have worked tirelessly with USPS to assure its return in our new facility. USPS has provided their suggested layout and that layout along with the updated site plan was approved by the Commission on February 18th.  To view the Post Office or City Hall design, please visit: https://keycolonybeach.net/city-hall-faq-2/

City Administrator – The Commission considered 28 applications for the City Administrator position. At the February 8th Special Meeting, the Commission reviewed those applications and selected 7 individuals to interview the week of February 22nd.

Retention Pond – The 1st phase of improvements to the retention pond on 8th Street was completed by Design Source the week of February 1st. The Utility Board and Commission await the next heavy rain to see the benefits of the improvements.

COVID-19 – Although the current positivity rate in Monroe County is 2.1%, I encourage all residents to practice social distancing, wear masks, and wash your hands. The Monroe County Health Department assured County Officials that an increase in COVID-19 vaccines will be made available shortly. In the meantime, let’s work together to stay safe during this busy season.

Ron Sutton, Mayor
